Find answers to some of our most frequently asked questions regarding our new AI voice features - Co-Pilot and Freestyle.
Kiroku is GDPR and HIPAA compliant
What happens to recordings? Are they stored?
Audio recordings made during your consultation are never stored - only transcribed and then the recording is removed.
Do I need to ask for patient consent before using AI transcription?
As audio recordings are not stored patient consent is not legally required for the use of our features, however, we do strongly advise this as a courtesy to your patients.
We advise you ask: "Do you mind if I use some new technology to help write my notes? No audio is stored."
We also have a poster available for download here which you may wish to display in your practice.
Is our data used to train the AI?
No. All data is encrypted end to end and your data is never used to retrain the model.
What microphone can I use?
Any type of microphone can be used - built-in, desktop, lapel mic. Each of these has advantages and disadvantages and we have further advice on selecting a microphone here, as well as some recommendations for specific models.
How can I get Co-Pilot or Freestyle to include more details from my transcript?
If you've completed a voice appointment and you'd like to add more detail to your notes, you can use our AI Editor to do this.
AI Editor has quick tasks to add more detail to the treatment or discussion sections, and you can give it your own custom requests as well eg. "Add more details from our discussion about risks and benefits".
