# Can I use Kiroku for dental charting?

## We don't recommend using Kiroku as a substitute for dental charting - here's why.

Kiroku can't be used for charting in the same way that you chart teeth within your practice management system.

In your practice management system, you can document each tooth, in most cases using colours and providing information about the root and surfaces. This information in most cases will be presented as a chart.

With Kiroku, our tooth selector lets you record information about the patient's teeth including their surfaces. However, this information will not be presented as a chart - this information is shown as text.
