My note text loses formatting in the PMS

Formatting may depend on your PMS

Kiroku Notes uses some formatting to make Notes easier to read.

For example, you can build line headers at the start of lines that appear as bold text.

Most practice management systems (PMS)/ clinical system/electronic health record (EHR) systems allow your Kiroku Notes formatting to be kept.

How to work out if your PMS accepts formatting

To test if your PMS accepts formatting or not, we suggest trying to paste your notes into a Word document or something similar (e.g. https://write-box.appspot.com/)

If the formatting of your Kiroku notes is maintained e.g. bold line headers still appear in Word but not in your practice management/clinical system, then it is the system that does not allow formatting.

Turn off formatting for your notes

Enabling the "Copy notes as plain text only" option in your Settings strips any formatting when you copy notes, so only the plain text is copied to your clipboard.

This is particularly helpful if your practice management software, such as R4, doesn't handle formatted text correctly, notes are taking up too much space, or you're seeing layout issues when pasting.
