How to access the AI Editor
You can open the AI Editor at any time by pressing the magic wand button on the right-hand panel of the notes screen. Once open, the AI Editor appears on the left side of your screen.
Tip: The AI Editor will also open automatically once all buttons in your note template have been clicked, or when you press 'Write my note' in Freestyle.
⚡ Quick Tasks vs Free Typing
When you open the AI Editor, you’ll see a list of quick tasks – handy shortcuts for common actions like “Summarise notes” or “Create action points to review at next appointment.”
These are great starting points, but you don’t have to use them.
You can also type your own requests freely into the chat bar at the bottom - for example, “Write a short message for the patient portal” or “List all periodontal concerns mentioned.”
Modes: Edit mode vs Chat mode
The AI Editor has two modes – you can switch between them using the toggle in the bottom-left corner.
In both modes the AI is informed by and can reference the note, as well as any transcript for this appointment.

💬 Chat Mode
Purpose: Chat with the AI about your note or ask for suggestions.
When in Chat mode the AI won’t change your note directly - it just provides ideas or drafts in the chat thread.
What might you do with this:
• Summarise your notes
• List key concerns or action points
• Draft referral or patient letters
• Suggest preventive advice
• Find mentions of things in your transcript
📝 Edit Mode
Purpose: Let the AI edit your notes directly.
What might you do with this:
• Add more details from your transcript into your note
• Add additional information
• Refine or rephrase a section
• Incorporate a summary or action points for your next appointment
Note: Edit mode can only be used once all buttons in your note template have been clicked
