Understanding Kiroku Credits
Kiroku uses a simple credit system for certain AI-powered or premium features. This ensures fair usage while giving you flexibility in how you use the platform.
What are credits?
Credits are used when you generate content using specific features in Kiroku, such as AI Voice notes or Docs.
How many credits do I get?
-
Essential plan - 500 credits per month
-
Pro plan - Unlimited credits
-
During your free trial - Unlimited credits
- On a Practice plan - Unlimited credits
If you’re on the Essential plan and need more credits, you can enable pay-as-you go to continue.
Credit usage by feature
Different features use different amounts of credits. Here's a breakdown:
|
Feature |
Credits Used |
|---|---|
|
Co-Pilot (AI Voice) |
3 |
|
Freestyle (AI Voice) |
3 |
|
Doc Creation |
80 |
|
AI Editor (per appointment) |
2 |
So what could 500 credits actually get me?
Here are some examples:
-
166 Co-Pilot/Freestyle appointments
OR
-
100 Co-Pilot/Freestyle appointments AND 100 uses of AI Editor
OR
-
6 Docs
When are credits deducted?
We’ve designed credits to be fair and predictable - you’re only charged for successful results you can actually use.-
AI Voice appointments (Co-Pilot and Freestyle) are charged per appointment and only once the note is copied
-
AI Editor is charged per appointment, not per message or request
- No charge for errors - if something fails, you won’t lose credits
- No minimum thresholds - there’s no minimum recording length or transcript size required
When do my credits reset?
-
Credits reset based on your subscription start date, not the calendar month.
- Monthly subscription: Your credits reset monthly on your billing date
- Annual subscription: Your credits reset monthly, in line with your subscription start date
-
You can check your credit cycle start/end date from the Subscriptions tab in your Settings
-
No rollover - unused credits do not carry over to the next cycle/month
What happens when I run out of credits?
-
You won’t be able to use credit-based features
-
You'll have the option to enable pay-as-you-go
-
If you enable pay-as-you-go:
- You can immediately continue using features after your included credits are used
- Additional usage is billed at a per-credit rate - meaning you're charged just for the additional credits you actually use
- You can set a spending cap to control how much extra you’re charged
- Once you hit your cap, usage will stop until your credits reset or you increase your limit
- Once set, your pay-as-you-go limit will stay the same each month until you choose to change it.
Where can I adjust my pay-as-you-go limit?
You can review and adjust your pay-as-you-go limit from the Usage tab in Kiroku's Settings
When will I be charged for pay-as-you-go usage?
Pay-as-you-go usage is billed in arrears. This means:
For monthly subscriptions, pay-as-you-go usage is billed at the end of your billing cycle and will be added to your standard monthly invoice.
For annual subscriptions, pay-as-you-go usage is billed monthly in line with your subscription start date. An invoice will be created each month for this charge.
How much do pay-as-you-go credits cost?
| Cost per credit | |
| GBP | £0.05 +VAT |
| USD | $0.08 |
| AUD | $0.11 |
For reference:
- A Co-Pilot or Freestyle appointment is 3 credits - so this would cost: £0.15+VAT/$0.24USD/$0.33AUD
-
500 credits would cost £25+VAT/$40USD/$55AUD

Where can I track my credit usage?
Essential users can track credit usage from the Usage tab in Kiroku's Settings. Here you'll find a full log of credit activity (searchable by date range), your remaining balance, your renewal date, and your pay-as-you-go settings.
As you approach your credit limit, you’ll see warnings in Kiroku. If you reach your limit, you’ll be directed to increase your pay-as-you-go limit, upgrade to Pro, or wait until your credits reset.
